ALWAYS FRESH, ALWAYS NATURAL
My milk is always sold to you within days of milking
(try getting THAT from store bought milk)!
My goal is to produce the highest quality milk from the healthiest and happiest animals possible.
(You can read all about how the goats are pampered on the "Goats" page.)
Plus, all goat milk sales are not for profit and go directly to the maintaining and bettering the mini farmstead.
All of our goat's milk is produced and packaged right here on the farm personally by me (Micki).
I have a food handler's permit and follow strict hygiene, sanitation, testing, and
chilling standards that exceed small dairy farm health standards set by the state of Utah.
A summary of these practices are as follows:
Professional grade milking machine is used with an in-line milk filter. The milk never touches air from goat to jar!
Milk machine equipment is sanitized after each use and broken down and deep cleaned once a week.
If hand milking is needed, only high-grade stainless steel milk pails are used to ensure sanitation and quality of taste.
Dairy does maintain a short clip around the udder and belly.
Milking is done in a separate, enclosed milking shed.
Disposable gloves are used for each milking.
Before milking, udder is washed with soaped, single-use wipes.
After milking, teat is dipped with iodine formula to ensure sanitation.
Milk is filtered directly into pre-sanitized and chilled glass jars.
Milk is chilled to 40 degrees within 1 hour.
Rapid chilling is key in preventing growth of harmful bacteria as well as ensuring optimum flavor.
All equipment is immediately washed and sanitized after use and always air dried to eliminate cross contamination.
